UES has an opportunity available for a Computational Biologist / Modeler to join our team working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This position will support the research for Computational Biology/Systems Biology/Toxicology research at the Aeromedical Research Department, 711 Human Performance Wing. The individual in this position will be responsible for developing and solving research problems requiring computer science and complex biological understanding to produce AF software products relating to systems biology of operational scenarios. This will be accomplished through the use of various software products to include stochastic and deterministic simulations of complex biological systems, primarily the brain and central nervous system.
The successful candidate will be able to leverage advanced data analytics, visualization and modeling to correlate physiological, neurological, and performance data. Programming experience, in languages commonly used in bioinformatics and computational biology (i.e. R, Python, MatLab, etc) is required. The ability to move between multiple projects and accomplish work in a self-directed fashion in a complex teaming of efforts is essential for this role.
