Junior Infrastructure Support Engineer

UES, a BlueHalo Company is seeking a Junior Infrastructure Support Engineer to support the Airmen Systems Directorate within the Human Performance Wing at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The junior engineer must have experience with one or more of the following: file share deployment and maintenance on isolated networks using static IP configurations (NFS, SMB, etc.), headless server work, server administration, offline package installation and maintenance, and/or some interfacing of Linux and Windows (i.e. Putty). The junior engineer will gain experience in any areas where experience is lacking and be asked to help support parallel infrastructure build efforts in addition to supporting existing infrastructure by helping expand and maintain newly established networking capabilities across different AFRL laboratories primarily using a Linux (Ubuntu or RedHat) networking architecture.  Junior engineer will report to and be trained by senior level Infrastructure Engineer on job duties.


  • Regular maintenance of infrastructure hardware and software, including software updates and reporting hardware faults for repair.
  • On-boarding new users onto existing infrastructure, including creating users and assigning group permissions.
  • Deployment and testing of existing data transfer scripts/pipelines.
  • Assisting in deployment of new hardware and software on existing infrastructure, including assigning IPs, configuring user settings, etc.
  • Fluency in standard MS Office software and other "standard" software packages in wide use at AFRL is highly desired


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 0 to 2 years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
