We are seeking a graduate intern who will have some experience with processing of synthetic or natural biopolymer into fibers, using techniques such as wet spinning, dry spinning or electrospinning. Experience with design of smart textile would be beneficial, as would work with nanomaterials and/or flexible electronics and sensors.
Support next generation fibers for textiles that will be based on a merger of biomimetic functionality and synthetically derived features to produce game changing attributes such as sense and respond, directional thermal control, environmental reporting, and human state awareness. It is imperative that the intern maintains a safe work environment and follows common laboratory safety policies. Productive and professional collaboration with laboratory and other personnel is also required.
